Technology

NHCS has state of the art technology resources at all of its buildings.  IPADS in our elementary classrooms along with computer pods/labs, Laptop carts, IPADS and computer labs at Endeavour Middle school and tablets, laptops, Chromebooks and computer labs at New Haven High School.  The district has recently upgraded computers and software to support CTE programming at New Haven High School in graphic design and other programming. New Haven Community Schools is an official Google district and we are continually moving the sharing of information staff to staff and staff to student to the Google platform.

Championship Athletics

New Haven Community Schools offers a comprehensive athletic program at both Endeavour Middle School and New Haven High School.  Several of our high school teams have earned MAC conference championships and sportsmanship awards.  We continue to achieve at the state level with several district championships. The size of our schools puts all student athletes closer to the field and we pride ourselves in our students being able to play multiple sports without needing extensive previous experience.  Our Varsity Basketball team is known as one of the strongest programs in the state and are the 2017 Class B State Champions.

Community Service

New Haven Community Schools puts a strong emphasis on developing students who are strong community servants.  Students of all ages participate in service events each year at all of our schools.  Adopt-A-Highway, Game on Cancer events, Meals on Wheels, The Warming Tree and HS Athletes Support March is Reading Month just to name a few of these events from this past year.

Fine Arts

NHCS has a comprehensive, Award Winning,  Fine Arts program with performance-based classes in vocal music “Choir” and instrumental music “Band” at both Endeavour Middle School and New Haven High School.  Drama programming and classes are also offered at both the MS and HS levels as well.  The elementary music and art programs are being expanded in 2016-17.

CTE Opportunities

Computer instruction begins at the elementary level in NHCS and expands to elective courses at Endeavour Middle School in all three grade levels (6-8).  The CTE offerings expand at NHHS with onsite Business/Marketing Education, Automotive, Graphic Design, Sports Medicine and Medical Careers programs.  Through partnerships with neighboring school districts we offer access to 10 different CTE programs.

Endeavour Elementary and Middle School

Endeavour Elementary and Middle School is an amazing facility located on 26 mile in Ray Twp.  Servicing children from Young 5’s to 8th grade, Endeavour is the place for your children to learn and grow.  Comprehensive academic and athletic programs along with extra-curricular and enrichment programs that aim to prepare well-rounded students for their high school experience and beyond.  Tuition paid school aged childcare for before and after school is available onsite.  Elementary extra-curricular offerings, Green School status, Drama performances, Astronomy club and more are examples of what makes Endeavour soar!

New Haven High School

New Haven High School has made incredible strides in the past four years in academic achievement on state assessments and beyond.  NHHS has one of the highest graduation rates in the state of Michigan for public high schools. HS students are provided a tremendous level of academic support that is not available at surrounding high schools.  Each student has access to a daily Academic Center class period along with after-school tutoring.  NHHS is offering a variety of advanced placement courses, Early College Macomb and Lawrence Technological University courses on site through our University Center.

New Haven Elementary

New Haven Elementary

NHE is a traditional elementary school located in the Decora Park subdivision that educates children from young 5’s to 5th grade. Comprehensive academic curriculum with elective and enrichment classes are provided to all students.  Research based intervention services for students who need more support are provided within the school day.  NHE is a Positive Behavior Supports school and recently received the Building Healthy Communities grant that has expanded programming for our students. Parent involvement is a high priority at NHE with our PTO, All-Pro Dads, and Watch D.O.G.S. programs leading the way. Tuition paid school aged childcare for before and after school is available onsite.

Developmental Kindergarten

NHCS offers Young 5’s rooms at both Endeavour Elementary on the west side of the district and New Haven Elementary on the east side. This exciting full day program will follow our regular Kindergarten curriculum but takes the time to ensure students understand the concepts.  It is a regular school experience designed to help prepare students for kindergarten the following year.  Students who are 5 years of age by September 1st or sign a waiver and turn 5 by Dec 1st are eligible.  Developmental Kindergarten is open to district residents and through school of choice.   Transportation is provided for in district students.  Tuition paid school aged childcare for before and after school is available onsite.

Preschool/Early Childhood

Early learning is a top priority in NHCS.  We have comprehensive preschool and early childhood special education programs that are housed in the Little Rockets Early Childhood Center at the New Haven Administration Building.  We offer 3 and 4 year old tuition programs, GSRP (need-based) 4 year old preschool, Early Childhood Special Education and tuition paid Childcare.  In addition, a MISD Head Start program is also available at the Little Rockets center.  Preparing all of our 3 and 4 year olds for Kindergarten is essential to our success.  Resident and non-resident enrollment is available in all programs.
